ICCO Ethics Chair Christina Forsgård brought up in discussion the importance of touch and closeness in the national YLE TV1 Jälkidigi morning show. She showcased iXu Smart Bear as a functional solution to pass a touch and caring closness to one another, while they cannot be physically near to each other, e.g. during the pandemic. The clue is that the remote closeness iXu Smart Bear provides can be personalized.
Touch is easy to take granted until it is gone. Pandemic has caused global hunger for more closeness and touch. Many things can help to increase remote closeness. Luckily there is today much more available that just sending letters. We can make audio and video calls. Texting and sending pics seems to be a main stream. Touch is obviously still missing. This is what iXu Smart Bear will bring to the table. Touch is a very strong non-verbal and emotionally effecting way of communication. Nice, gentle caress, which is delivered by iXu, creates strong bonds between people. We look forward to helping people who are not able to be with their loved ones as much as they like.
